Ansley “Anesthesia just came in and said that Ansley's surgery to remove her port will be at 11:00 this morning.”
Anna “Anna's MRI and Lumbar puncture in the morning and then we will go to clinic for her chemo.”
Jessica “Jess came into the hospital this evening for a pet scan, but during her vitals before her scans her fever registered at 101.7. She is neutropenic…”
Clari “The weekend has been very difficult, since Friday night this sweet girl has done nothing but cry and squirm in pain.”
Thomas “He will have a very important bone marrow test that will determine a lot as far as his prognosis going into transplant.”
Carey “We still need your prayers as I know time is drawing nearer and I will miss her so much but will know she will be sitting talking to jesus and waiting on her family.”
Nathan “Nathan's spinal fusion surgery is Tuesday, September 7, 2010. This will be a very complex case, as Nathan's brain injury and testing positive for MRSA (staph infection resistant to antibiotics), will add further complications. Surgery will be a minimum of 8 hours. He'll spend 1-2 days in PICU and 5-12 days, in the hospital…”
Eithene “Eithene has been retching, shaking, sneezing, and NOT sleeping for most of the week. She has been m-i-s-e-r-a-b-l-e. Nights have been long and painful.”
Zach “It has been a very bad weekend in our house filled with lots of tears and frustrations from all of us.”
Chase “I guess we can't get enough of this place! :) Chase started running a fever late Friday afternoon.”

Samuel “Samuel was admitted at Children’s tonight in room 209 for pneumonia.”
Katelyn “Pain pain horrible pain, that is what Katelyn is feeling right now…”
Jillian “Jillian had a seizure. Jillian is actually at Lutheran General.”
Evan “Please keep praying for Evan. The road ahead is treacherous. Wendy and I live in fear everyday that this insidious disease has taken hold in his brain again. We know that disease is growing there but we cannot treat the brain safely right now.”
Courtney “ANC is still 0. The doctors have taken her off of all of her antibiotics except one, in case they were suppressing her white cells. She has been very tired the last couple days and doesn't act like she feels very well.”
Audrey “She has lost over 6% of her body weight and is just feeling lousy still. it breaks my heart to see her feeling so down and I just pray that she has a turn around soon!”
Zach “Most notable newer issue is his voice …we were told that likely his vocal cords are experiencing some type of paralysis…”
Hilary “Sorry I have not updated for a few days trying to keep my pain level down really low. Its been pretty bad sometimes it seems I can handle it and then its just gets worse.”

Jordan “Jordan is having lots of pain, it's getting unbearable at times. It's getting harder and harder for her to sleep. her poor body is just worn out. Jordan is tired of waiting. She wants to get new lungs…”
Ansley “The phone rang at 1am this morning (Sunday) and it was the MD at Scottish Rite. He said her blood cultures had already started to grow bacteria and we need to get her up to Scottish Rite immediately. On one last note, today is Ansley's 2nd Birthday.”
Maverick “From the chest x-ray this morning, Maverick is showing signs of infection (pneumonia).”
Carey “Her color has changed some more today. And has gets really exhausted very easy and doesn't have any energy at all. She can't get out of the bed without her heart rate going up and she becomes very dizzy.Just please keep praying for our family as we need this now more than ever.
Braden “I'm devastated to have to tell you that the PET scan did indicate that the tumour is still very much cancer and has not been affected by chemo.”
Kelsey “Instead we have been admitted to St. Joseph's Hospital due to the fact that Kelsey has been vomiting…”
Audrey “Audrey has been feeling pretty lousy still, unfortunately! She has been sleeping most of the day…”
Shea “Shea's feeling pretty crappy today, after yesterday's chemo. Her chronic cough has worsened…”
Devan “Today he had 0 ANC, 0.6 white count, and 81% blasts. Some blasts could be healthy new cells trying to recover, but not that many. There is definitely alot of leukemia returning to his bloodstream.”
Kait “He was more concerned about my G tube, it’s been really red, irritated, ulcerated for awhile now and seems to just get worse. As far as G tubes look, it’s about the most angry he’s ever seen.”
Violet “Yesterday, Justin and I brought Violet home for good. We met with the doctors again, and the blast cells in her bone marrow are filled with disease and a transplant will no longer be an option.”

Clari and Gaby “Clari is back to the hospital and Gaby is going to join her soon if he doesn't improve.”

Alexis “She is now on the clock to get her counts up before they do a bone marrow test for relapse...”
Carrie “Blood cultures drawn yesterday at the clinic were already growing gram positive bacteria…”
Jillian “The pain is too much sometimes and I am weak. My mind is still not 100%. I have what is called hepatic encephalopy caused by a high amonia level in my body.”
Thomas “Our biggest problem right now is that he coughs so hard that he often throw up any food , liquids and medications that he has been given.”

Owen “pray tomorrow at 1:30 CT for a successful surgery - and then at some point a successful extubation.”
Graham “one of the three shunts in his head is malfunctioning. He is going in for surgery later today to have it repaired.”
Jason “has multiple tumors on the lungs and the ones that were already there are growing, he has one on the left shoulder and 2 next to the esophagus on the left side. He now also has some on the spleen, the tumor that was the size of a grapefruit has doubled in size and now has sprouts that have grown and wrapped around everything. She also said Jason is caring around pounds of tumors…”
Bayleigh “Bayleigh has been up since 2:00 a.m. sick....I have a call in to the hospital to see if they can prescribe her Emend for nausea... the Zofran doesn't seem to be phasing her nausea...”

Braden “Basically, they were not encouraging, the area of the tumour has not shrunk at all, but we can't tell if this is tumour or just scar tissue.”

Tyler “The aspergillus infection in his sinuses has invaded the bone. Praying that the meds will clear it up. On a patch now for pain as the infection does cause quite a bit of pain.”
Hannah “Hannah has a bone marrow aspirate/biopsy tomorrow at 6:30am. PLEASE PRAY for no MLL gene expression and as close to 100% donor as we can get.”
Reid “Reid's scans and his kidneys look good, but they are concerned with his spine. Apparently there is a gap between the L5 and S1. The medical term for it is Spondylolisthesis…”

^^Bekah^^ “It is with a heavy and aching heart that I let you know Bekah passed away this afternoon with Sharlah and Rich at her side.”
Maverick “We had a rough night with the little man. He did not tolerate being moved and ventilator settings were constantly having to be adjusted. Maverick Jeremy was welcomed into our lives on Sunday August 1st. From the MRI we learned that the mass is a Neuroblastoma. Neuroblastoma is by far the most common cancer in infants (less than 1 year old).”
Baby Braylen “TODAY (8/29) BRAYLEN HAS STARTED HAVING REALLY BAD SEIZURES!ONE SO BAD HE COMPLETELY STOPPED BREATHIN THEY HAD TO PLACE HIM BAK ON THE VENT!”
Brayton “repeat x-rays today showed his Pneumatosis is actually worse than yesterday despite not having anything to eat or drink for 24 hours.”
Kayleigh “She has however continued to be very uncomfortable and still moans out in pain several times a day… Her heart rate is still way up there…”
Isaiah “Poor Zay is another story, though. His respiratory symptoms have diminished, but he is still having the severe retching/choking episodes that are leaving us stressed.”

Courtney “Courtney's bone marrow test today did not yield the results we wanted to see…Courtney has absolutely no white cells in her bone marrow.”
Gaby & Clari "We just need to get the pain to a tolerable level so that it can be managed from home. Today we switched all the IV meds to oral and have decreased the doses. Gaby has been having a rough week.”
Zach “Zach is doing worse today then he has all week - the only positive I can come up with his he only has a low grade fever now.”
Kaitlyn “For me, things are still going downhill. The pain and nausea is almost constant to the point I'm barely functioning, my quality if life being pretty bad.”
Morgan “Morgan's tumor has grown 4 mm since our last visit. The doctor's told us that the only thing left that they can do for her is to try to surgically remove it. They can not do any further radiation and chemo is not effective in the brain.”
Jack “It is with complete devastation that we must report that Jack's cancer has returned.”

Bradley “Bradley is in PICU with pallative care (Ewings Sarcoma relapse). He passed away last Wednesday, but God breathed a breath of life into him. He is still holding on, but we believe it is for his birthday. We are celebrating his 18th birthday today, as we don't believe he can make it until Friday (his actual birthday). I feel once he has his party, he will let go and run to Jesus. Please pray for peace and comfort for him on his passing, along with our family.”
Brayton “Brayton's doctor, Dr. Kolb, was very alarmed with the results. He has lots of air in between all of his bowel walls which is the cause of his extended abnormal shaped abdomen. Brayton has been admitted to the BMT unit at Dupont Children's Hospital.”
Devonne “We are gearing up for another LONG admission here at "Hotel Strong".”
Rayne “We were called by the hospital this morning and informed that there is bacteria in Rayne's blood. We have been admitted to Northshore hospital.”
Tiana “when we got her into her room she plunged down hill very rapidly.. she was a little dehydrated so they were only hydrating her when she began vomiting…”
Sara “Sara's skin has not healed up in the way that we needed it to. If I understand correctly, they are going to pull this line & hopefully place a PIC line temporarily in her arm until her chest can heal up.”
Jason “I did find out the reason they want to go ahead and do surgery first is that the cancer is spreading. There is a tumor on the esophagus now.”

Stevy “The doctors thought it was probably her gallbladder. Sure enough after doing an ultrasound it showed that her gallbladder is full of sludge causing tremendous pain.”
Clari “The hard times continue. Just like yesterday, she seemed better in the morning then goes downhill after noon and then is pure hell from there on. She has become incontinent since yesterday, another CT Scan (this time of her chest) and another MRI were just done today.”
Chase “Today, Brant and I accomplished the single most difficult thing I believe we will ever have to do. I had to look into the eyes of the most beautiful 12 year old boy who has been through sooo much knowing he is thinking this is just another setback and have him look me in the eye and tell him, "You will die from the leukemia."”
Caston “Caston is ok but is back on vent till tomorrow. He was coded y'day morning and flat lined for 10 sec. He got strangled on his secretions, which happens.”
Jillian “Received a phone call Friday evening -- results of blood work show high levels of pneumonia. Left for the hospital last night at 7:00pm.”
Zach “Even with his g-tube we are having problems getting fluids into him – his stomach just does not want to hold any volume and he is retching very quickly during feeds.”
Tyler “Well it’s been a long hard week. Our journey with Tyler seems to get better then worse.

Taylor “Taylor has spent nearly all day in bed. She is very weak today and has been having increased pain throughout her body. The weakness is worst in her legs but is also in her arms.”
Amayah “The past 32 hours have been rougher than rough. We are now at 45 fentanyl and 4.5 versed.”
Cody “As we wait for the arrangements to be made for Hospice, we sit here making sure Cody is comfortable. He told me that he is tired, and can't go on, and wants to go home.”

Alex “I have surgery on Monday so knock on wood, cross your fingers, and pray everything goes well.”
Trevor “It's been awhile but we are back in hospital. Trevor woke up around 3 am this morning with a fever and swellness on the right side of his chest.”
John “At five thirty John was admitted to the ER…As the week wore on, John began to decline, arriving where we are tonight.”
Kelly “She will have surgery this Monday to take the old port out and have a new one placed.”
Tyler “The final pathology report show the fungal infection is Aspergillus. He also tested positive for staph, bacterial infection, and strep! He started coughing yesterday and temp was 100.1 about 1:00 am this morning.”
Zach “Waiting on another call from the doctor...Until 1:00pm hit and BAM Zach has a 103 fever…”

Nikki “The doctor came in and explained that she was not having a allergic reaction, she was having a severe side effect from the Zometa and to come back if it gets worse. This pain can be very bad for 3 to 4 days, moving to other muscles or joints and can last up to 2 weeks in rare cases.
Hilary “I am in tons of pain and have been given some pain meds.”
Ivory “Ivory is staying the night tonight. She is having high blood pressure and some pain”

Briahna “a CT scan which showed that she has a small epidural bleed in the bottom back part of her brain. They admitted her to the hospital to monitor the bleed…It appears Briahna may have a spot on the right temporal side of her brain that looks like a low grade neoplasm (tumor).”
Julian “Today we received some devastating news from Julian’s biopsy that he had yesterday. The cancer is still there and the doctors said the leukemia seems to be winning.”

“At Arkansas Children's hospital with an undiagnosed heart/lung issue. He is unable to maintain proper oxygen levels in the blood without oxygen assistance. His name is Jack Jones and is 4 1/2 months old. His older sister, Maia, died of this "disease" in 2008 at 5 1/2 months. The doctors are going to perform a Heart Cath on him Friday to try to determine if there is a problem with the anatomy of the heart. This is considered a high risk procedure…”
Bekah “Bekah's having a really difficult day. She has a horrible cough and cries every time she coughs because of the pain. She's so exhausted because every time she falls asleep her sats drop and she has to be woken up again.”
Clari “She is still in very bad shape, the pain is relentless. It hasn’t gotten better at all. The plan for today is to do a spinal tap so that they can rule out meningitis…”
Tyler “In the helicopter on the way to CHLA. Tyler is stable but doesn't feel well.”
Hailey “The tumor was still there and was the same size. He said to be at the hospital on Friday at 7:00 and he would crack her head open shortly after that.”
Anthony “The plan is still for the surgeons to put a line back in Anthony on Friday this can be a difficult surgery due to the clots in his chest…Please pray for Anthony's pain and agitation to be under control…”

Alyssa “This Friday, Alyssa will be having outpatient surgery by a plastic surgeon to remove several (late effects) beauty marks/moles whatever ya want to call them. She has some on her feet amongst other places (neck, back, head…) that they will remove and biopsy…”
Andrew “The surgeon did not feel Andrew was in a place that would be good for a good outcome for transplant. So they cannot list him.”
Zach “Surgery itself went fine it was the afterwards we are still struggling with. His geneticist is hoping to get him out of the hospital ASAP but says the next 12 hours are critical for him.”
JP “He is still retching some. His blood pressures are HIGH.Bottom line is...we haven't made much progress in the last 9 days.”
Devonne “To say that he has been miserable would be an understatement at this point. His nausea is SEVERE, and he is barely eating. His belly is very distended and he is having frequent episodes of diarhea. The pain medications only work to a certain point…”
Gage “CT scan confirms that while the growth is nominal at the moment, the disease is progressing in the mediastinal and para-spinal mass.”
Colton “The long and short is that this monster has somehow crept back into our lives. We are devastated.”

Brooklyn “She has been scheduled to go in next Thursday August 26th @ Levine Children's Hospital for the procedure to be done and will have to remain in the hospital for 2 days.”
Zach “Zach’s surgery is rescheduled for Thursday August 26th.”
Ryan “Ryan is headed back in tomorrow for major surgery again. Please continue to lift him and his doctors in Prayer. Dr. Rizzuto will be separating his skin from his back muscle on each side pulling the muscle down to d close his back finally. Dr. Tally will once again try and repair the spinal fluid leak...”
Hilary" surgery will be on Aug 26th unless something changes that. Please pray that I can get my back fixed this time."
Jonathan “Jonathan is still scheduled for his tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy on August 26th.
Nora “Nora's kidneys have taken a hit with the diuretics and it is about all I can stand at this point. She just looks worse and worse and she is on more vent support than ever. She has been throwing up a lot. It makes me sad.”
Quincy “Everyday is becoming harder & harder watching Quincy deteriorate. He is sleeping a lot now.”
Connor “We are still watching his liver and kidneys very close. His kidneys have been acting up the past month. They are still functioning, just not well.

Bryson “I got a call saying that his ALK-PHOS level on his CMP blood work had come back very elevated. There could be a couple reasons for this one being liver issues, but his liver enzymes came back normal. The other thing that this can point to is bone disease (cancer now in the bone).”

Christine “He has me scheduled for surgery on Wednesday. In talking with the rads nurse, her opinion is that they are going to remove the tumors Wed., but I am not completely sure.

Selena “IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM RIGHT NOW AGAIN AND THIS IS THE 3RD TIME THIS WEEK THIS IS GETTING SO OLD AND SO TIREING FOR THE FAMILY…”
Cody “Cody was in extreme pain today. He has been having horrible dreams and is talking whether he should be cremated or buried.”
Bekah “Nighttime always seems to bring difficulties. The did reduce her feeds to 10ml/hr and that should help the vomiting. Please pray they have a better night.
Delaney “In the hospital…He felt like her gt site was infected and was apparently able to squeeze pus out of it. He squabbed it and sent it for a gram stain and culture. The gram immediately showed white cells and then two hours later started showing that the infection is some sort of staph infection.”
Ryan “He put packing in one of the open wounds and pushed it through to the other open wound to clean it out and then left some inside the wound to help with the drainage...All while Ryan is awake...”
McKenna “McKenna had a really rough time today because on top of the new cath being placed, they zapped her with 4 different chemos.”
Elizabeth “There was no change in the size of the tumor in June (which was the last MRI). But now, it is starting to grow again. There will be no new treatments added at this time.”
Courtney “Courtney was awake all night last night with a nosebleed.”
Codey “He was very restless and this morning when I woke him up he had a headache and right jaw pain, probably caused by the Vincristine.”

Jensen “Downhill is the word of the day. Last night was rough. Jensen was in a lot of pain and was waking up about every 10 minutes hitting his pain button.”
Taylor “Thankfully the immediate danger from the allergic reaction…however, as the Benadryl started working, intense pain began all over her body similar to what she has been enduring for several weeks now.”
Amayah “Amayahs poor little heart is giving us some signs that it is time. We have a plan in place that once her heartrate is at 60 for a period of time we will plan for compassionate extubation for Amayah.”
Nora “The way they want to do this is in a cath lab which is much less invasive than surgery. They will use an amplanz occluder device to block off her Pulmonary artery. It will just be a matter if she tolerates it or not. They have started her on nitric oxide today. This should help her tolerate the procedure better.”
Tyler “Ty will have surgery around 11:00 tomorrow morning. After seeing about 10 different doctors/residents who all asked the SAME questions, having an MRI, CT scan, kidney sonogram, and numerous blood tests, they have decided his problems are from a severe blockage in his sinuses.”
Tamara “Friday morning at 6:45 I have my hysterectomy.”
Devonne “things have been absolutely HORRIBLE not just for Devonne, but for myself also.”

Connor “Connor was admitted to the hospital early this morning due to him spiking a fever. Yep, it is a big fat bummer!...it is official...........the plate in Connor's leg has failed and he will need to have surgery to remove & replace it.”
Patti “Patti has pneumonia and has been struggling with it for 2 day's now. Patti also noticed a change in GW. He suffers from headaches, no appetite, and seams to be becoming pail. These are all signs of Central Nervous System Relapse, so she called GW's doctor too.”
Dejon “He has also expressed concern over a lymph node behind Dejon’s right ear. Last week the lymph node became swollen and hard.”

Brett “He is still running a fever, high heart rate and respirations. Brett is still grunting. We are all still trying to figure out if it's pain or respiratory.”
Talon “... still not doing well. 10 liters of oxygen 150 heart rate, slept all day. Mostly awaken by seizures, one was pretty intense. Latest word. his new jg tube seems placed ok seems to have gotten the BIG Pneu again.”

Austin “Apparently, there are some bleeding that is not visible in the back of his eye…Please keep Austin’s in your prayers that everything will be ok with his MRI and that minor tiny spot is not tumor.” Jordan “This morning Jordan was activated for her second double lung transplant. That means she is at the top of the list and waiting to accept offers.”
Chase “his next chemotherapy on Wednesday. Yes, it's a nasty one, too. 5 more days!”

Sam “Breathing is becoming more difficult for him every day. Hospice came to our home this morning and said that Sam can pass really at any time...or it may still be a few days. We are continuing to pray for peace and comfort for our son…”
Stevy “Stevy became restless about 1:00 am. Her breathing was labored, her oxygen level down, practically non-responsive and her eyes rolled back.”
Talon “Talon is running a 102+ temp., four liters of oxygen, heart rate all day 150-175, and looks a bit uncomfortable.”
Aisylin “Today Aisy has had a lot of pain and has no energy. We have had to give her lots of additional pushes of the pain med to keep her comfortable.”
Khloe “They did say that they are hoping that she can stay stable til tomorrow afternoon. They will be taking her back into the OR to repair then after lunch.”
Chase “Chase is still not feeling well. He has a mean case of Mucositis.”
Taylor H. “The dr called and informed me the cancer is back it is not a lot but it is surrounding her liver.”
Peyton “So, the rash spread up her body and to her face. Her eyes are definitely swollen and her skin is warm. It is unfortunate but it seems she has developed an allergy to the erythromycin.”
Nolan “The morning started as usual Nolan puking all the way to the bathroom…Nolan fell over and hit his head on the wall. I realized he didn't have much balance or control over his body.”
Courtney “Courtney did not get to go home from the hospital today. She is very disappointed! It looks like it could be a couple more days.”
GW “Gw is having several bothersome symptoms. First, his balance. He trips and nearly falls several times a day. Second, he has started stuttering.”
Taylor J. “month post-transplant check-up. Thoughts and prayers that her counts have returned to normal after this last round of bacterical junk would be appreciated.”
Connor “We head to Columbus tomorrow for a follow-up with his orthopedic surgeon to check the healing/bone fusion of his leg and the plate position that holds what is left of his femur & tibia in place.:
Taylor D. “Over the next two weeks Taylor has several important doctor appointments. The most important and scary of which is tomorrow at 12:30. She is seeing a new infectious disease specialist and if past experiences are any indication of what we're in for, it's going to be a very emotionally draining appointment.”
Hilary “So tomorrow Aug 17th, I will be seeing the cardiologist to check out my valves and make sure they are ok for me to have my back surgery next week. Please pray that the Dr. gives me the ok.”

Sam “Sam is still fighting. Family members have been taking shifts sitting up with him throughout the night. Breathing pattern is changing. He is currently sleeping peacefully at 7:00AM. Please continue to pray. He is having a hard time "letting go".” “Sam is currently in the active stages of dying. Hospice said it can happen today or within the next few days. Sam's breathing is very labored, his body temperature is still warm to the touch with cold/clammy hands and feet and his coloring is beginning to change.”

Amayah “Watching Amayah so uncomfortable is just heartbreaking. She has been so miserable that she is back in the hospital in the ICU.”
Ashley A. “Ashley Kate's triple lumen was just lost. It’s not acceptable for her to be intubated without some form of sedation and at this time we have no way to give it to her.”
Eithene “We found out that one of the types of bacteria she is growing is resistant to the main antibiotic we depend on for 90% of her infections. Yikes.”
Devonne “I know that if we continue on this road that we are currently on, that there will come a point where Devonne's kidney will grow a bacteria that we CANNOT treat. If that were to happen, there would be nothing else that the doctors can do for him.”
Britney “Britney's port removal surgery is tomorrow morning at Children's. She is very stuffed up and started with a runny nose yesterday (go figure).”
Bekah “Bekah is still on the bipap. They tried to ween her off but she went into respiratory distress…”
Hannah M. “She has a severe rash all over her face, including on her little eyelids and inside her ears. Her face is all puffy, too, from the water retention.”

Sam “Sam woke up this morning gasping for breath...having a very difficult time breathing. He is needing oxygen more and more every day. His disease is progressing very quickly.”
Jessica “I ended up having to take Jessica to the local ER yesterday. She had been running a 103 fever and vomiting…”
Amanda “This is an extremely difficult entry to make…Her body has been thru more procedures, surgeries, scans, injections, transfusions and sooo much more than anybody I know...She is struggling so much right now and we are very sad to update that she will be going to Heaven soon.”
Luke **LUNG transplant** “Luke who is 9 and his family just received the call that they have new lungs for him. His mother (who is currently 8.5 months pregnant) and him are currently jumping on a plane headed to Pittsburg where the transplant will take place. Luke has a very rare lung disease that caused his lungs to stop growing. His site is not yet updated.”
Bekah “she had some distress earlier today and they had to put her back on the bipap. She may eventually move back down to the PICU.”
JP “Inpatient, in crisis, miserable - totally a 360 change from yesterday!”
Ryan “Ryan has now had 3 spinal fluid leaks, attempted to be repaired it is with sadness that I report that the fluid is continuing to leak.Ryan also has now been put in isolation due to a highly infectious infection.”
Ashley “Ashley is not being discharged today. Shortly after updating CaringBridge last night, Ashley began running a fever of 102.5…”
Ben “First of all, the doctor told us that the chemo was NOT working. We were told that the tumors had spread, one of the original tumors had doubled in size, and that the cancer has attacked the spine. (He already has spinal stenosis.) Ben and the doctor decided to stop the chemo. I am crushed.”
Nic “we need your fiercest prayers right now as I face my second biggest nightmare.... neuro damage. I have just signed consent for Nic to have a spinal tap stat!”
Jensen “We just sat down with the docs and things have gotten significantly worse since scans on Sunday. The pain in his right shoulder is due to the fact that his right lung is now full of nodules and fluid.”
Alex “Alex is having another rough day today. In fact this morning he could hardly balance himself enough to walk and his speech was very difficult to understand. We continue to not know what to do. He continues to have stomach pain on a daily basis.”
Kayla “Please pray for this horrible psychosis to end so Kayla can finally rest and have a night without bad dreams and NO MORE people telling her bad things.”
Kaycee “I do need to let everyone know that when Kaycee starts her chemo,(tomorrow) since it is such an aggressive dose, she will probably be pretty sick most of the time.”
Katelyn “She is still in pain, the inserts will take a while to work I guess, she was in so much pain last night she was crying.”
Julie “the spots that shrunk last time are now growing and the others are stable.”
Ethan “Ethan is STILL in a very critical place in his journey. And ONLY a miracle can save his life. I know and fully understand this.”

^^Gabriel^^ “Our sweet Gabriel Matthew Perkins, born September 6th, 2002 at 8:48pm, so sweet, so full of life, with such a purpose.........closed his eyes, gave his spirit up to our Lord Jesus Christ, and entered the gates of eternity at 12:23am on August 12th, 2010, so sweet, so full of life, and with such a purpose fulfilled!!”
Taylor “Kendra and Tay are on the way to ER. Taylor has been vomiting all night and is having extreme abdominal pain. Please pray for Tay and for momma, who is pretty scared right now.”
Amayah “We moved up a level on Fentanyl at 5:10pm. Well than we had a Broviac bleeding issue around 6:00pm, than around 8pm she went right to out of control! Thrashing, kicking, screamining, crying and scratching Mom and the nurse.. No relief with that so we were forced to call the Hospice team.”
Nic “Urgent prayer request for Nic please. He was very, very, disorientated this evening. Took awhile for him to remember my name and then was very confused about recent events. He has a fever…”
Jessica “Jessica was admitted this morning due to high fever and head/neck pain. Pain has been pretty intense at times. She will be having a spinal tap tomorrow morning to rule out some concerns.”
Mac “due to her having bacteria infections in her bloodstream she is having her port removed tomorrow and they will put a central line in as well in the jugglar while she's in the O.R”
Tristen “Tristen had a tough night – he slept very little. He continues to have problems with the BiPAP machine; his heartbeat changed dramatically the moment they took it back off.”
Todd “Today, he has continued to feel awful. Early this morning, he started coughing up much thicker stuff than usual, and it looked very discolored. Additionally, he coughed up some blood, which has never happened before and it really terrified both of us.”
Peighton “we have to have the portacath put back in her chest for IV chemo....so we are looking at this coming Friday for that surgery.”
Breanna “Tomorrow is the BIG day. Breanna is to have surgery at 7:00 AM to remove her central lines.”
Steven “Well Steven had to be admitted again on Monday. He was having trouble walking and blurred vision again. So off the ER we went.”
Jessica N. “Sunday while hiking I fell of a small cliff (about 12ft) and my head broke my fall on some boulders. The fall caused a small crack to form in my skull and some issues there.”
Sam “It seem's that Sam's disease is progressing. Sam has several "spots" on his abdomen, ribs and in his groin area that we all believe to be cancerous nodules. He is such a skinny child anyway that these "spots" are very visible now. He prayed last night at bedtime and he was begging God to heal him.”
JP “JP has a fibula fracture! The leg/foot are too swollen to cast…”
Cody **NO SITE** “just diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer…”
Jessica “We found out yesterday that she now has fractures in T4,5,6,7,8, and 9, with T6 being the worst. I guess that explains why she absolutly CAN NOT stand without being in horrible pain.
Aisylin “It was unbelievable how every part of her body is lighting up. The cancer has spread to every area of her body extensively, mostly in the bones. We have had to increase her pain medicine to keep her comfortable, but it is getting more difficult.”
Lily “There is nothing like having the wind knocked out of you again. After our week of scans for Lily, the doctor has given us some bad news. Results show cancer activity on her skull, in her liver and in the pelvis.
Tyler “Tyler still has cancer in his right lung. Last week in surgery they removed two nodules out of the upper lobe. There is one (possibly two) nodules in the lower lobe of his lung. There has been growth in the nodule(s) in just the two weeks between scans.”
Jude “His MRI is scheduled for this Friday at 1pm and then his CT is Tuesday at 12:00pm.”
Kenzie “We learned her CT scan has been scheduled…FOR TOMORROW at 3:30pm so PLEASE say an extra prayer for her.”

^^Walker^^ “Today Heaven has a new angel, and his name is Walker Jack. Jesus came down Himself to grant our sweet baby his very own set of wings at 10:35AM.”
Amanda “AMANDA HAS TAKEN A QUICK TURN FOR THE WORSE TODAY. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED…HER BODY IS RAMPANT WITH ADENOVIRUS AND SHE IS FIGHTING FEVERS OF 104.”
Stevy “These past 2 days have been eventful to say the least. Yesterday Stevy was still very uncomfortable and having a hard time breathing.”
Eithene “She does have pneumonia, and it appears to be an aspiration pneumonia, which is bad. She has a significant infection in an abscess around her GJ tube. She has a UTI.”
Bradaigh “Well here we are again, in the "Big House!" Bradaigh has had a cough for a few days and a runny nose. Later this afternoon he was running a low grade, 100.7, so they instructed us to go to the ER.”
Chase “MRI confirmed that the fluid was a pseudocyst off the pancreas. Today(8/10), Chase went to surgery and had another drain inserted into his abdomen.”
Phillip **NO SITE** “Injured in a vehicle accident in the wee hours of Saturday Morning-is in critical condition, multiple brain injuries-in a coma-prayers desperately needed. Phillip is sixteen years old.”
Amayah “I have always said that Amayah will tell me when enough is enough and she is doing that now. She is now on a home drip of Fentanyl and Versed. All I want is her comfortable. We are making the steps of withdrawing support. This is seriously the worst thing I have done in my life.”
Devonne “Devonne appeared to be doing a little better going into the weekend, but took a turn for the worse on Sunday when his pain increased dramatically. Since then, he has been in AGONY…”
Jensen “There is too much tumor to even think of surgical removal right now. His exact, horrifying words were "it's not curable."”
Alex “Another rough day for Alex. He has been so bloated today that he has been complaining of his stomach hurting all day and I have had to vent him almost every 45 minutes to 1 hour.”
John “The last two days have continued to be difficult for John. He has continued to throw up at least twice daily despite still being on all medications.”
Ewen “Today by far was the WORST time of this cycle, and as Susie and I discussed its only gonna get worse, seems like each time we go he gets sicker and sicker. This time he had 5 episodes of vomiting before we even left the hospital.”
Tristen “He said the main prayer right now is to get Tristen stable enough that he could even be transported to another hospital to receive a liver transplant. He asked that we also still pray for his liver. He needs to get stable, stronger, and healthier.”
Matthew “The results from Matthew's CT scan were not good. The tumors that were already there are getting bigger, and now there are some new ones around his intestines by his belly button.”

Ken “Ken is getting weaker every day. He can walk but tries. He has had many strokes and now has altimers. He is sleeping all the time. When I go to talk to him he looks at me like he has no idea who I am.”

^^Chris^^ “Chris's long and painful battle is over. At 10:33 am he went peacefully with the Lord.”
Hannah “Please pray for Hannah...she is having a really rough morning. Dave is with her...he said she is having really bad diarrhea, some vomiting, and she has some bleeding in her belly…”
Ivory “Ivory’s fever broke at about 5 am. But its back and the pain in her neck is worse and her one eye is looking. I don’t know what to do from here.”
Tiana “They began running the chemo around five last night and within seconds of it going into her IV…she became very ill.”
Aisylin “I'm writing with a heavy heart tonight. Aisylin's pain has been progressing quickly to other parts of her body, and her need for pain medicine has increased as well. The doctors here and Boston have agreed that the only option at this point is to keep her comfortable at home.”
Courtney “She is pretty weak and her speech is hard to understand this evening. I also noticed she felt warm a few minutes ago so I checked her temp and it is 101.7. Here we go again.”
Jensen “was alone in the room with him when the doc came in and told me that he has a large mass on in his chest, one in the lung, and one in the liver.”
Carrie “Today has been a "blah" day. Woke up this morning with a sore throat, headache and a little cough.”
Reilly “Reilly has not felt that great today. She seems very tired. Her tummy also hurts.”
Jack “Tough day, we have had someone in here working him, poking him or something all darn day. He now has MRSA
Jillian “Struggling. My time the last few days has been a bit of a struggle. Struggling to be comfortable. To sleep , to eat, to just stay awake. I cannot lay down once again due to pain…”
Heidi “I write to you with a heavy heart this afternoon. I have been in the hospital away from my family since Saturday...may not seem long...but it's hard when you are a caretaker and then suddenly pulled from that role too and told you cannot do it. I have been told that my infection is a form of a staph infection.”
Lindsay “Lindsay had a Chest, Abdomen and Pelvic CT scan today and from the looks of it, her lungs are not getting much better.”
John “We are not out of the wood's yet. John's kidneys are no longer working so we need a kidney transplant. It will take John 2 years before it is safe for him to get a transplant.”
Max “So, this week is going to be a very tough week on us. We decided to move the bone marrow tests and chemo to tomorrow.”
Peyton “Peyton had a horrible myoclonus no sleep night.”
Phillip “Tomorrow is a BIG day for Philip. He has a appt in the morning about getting ready for a BIG procedure.” Matthew “Matthew has a CT scan of his abdominal area on Tuesday, and then chemo on Thursday.”
Luke “The oncologist informed me today that the MRI shows new growth on one side of the tumor.”
Ethan “I’m in a total state of uneasiness, fear, panic and anxiety about Ethan’s upcoming scans. His tumor markers are increasing at such dramatic rates…”

Ashley “Surgery has been scheduled for Monday, August 9th…We pray that when they remove the tumor and look at under the microscope that they are able to tell us that there are no active cells.”
Jeanne-Avery “Jeanne-Avery will be having surgery tomorrow at 1pm to remove everything that is infected.”
Eithene “Eithene has had a rough first week at home. She is still preferring to sleep 18-20 hours per day, but is slowly getting more strength. A bigger problem is that she has been running pretty high fevers…”
Alex “Alex had a rough day again today. We are doing breathing treatments for his asthma. His dysautonomia continues to get worse and his speech has decreased a little more…”
Alena “The chemo drug ifosphamide can cause the bladder to become irritated and inflamed…”
Ben “Thought I'd ask everyone to pray extra hard for Ben. Even with the new pain med he is still in lots of pain. I don't know if its getting worse or why it hurts so much now.”
Brandon "We are hoping to get him on the surgery schedule for Monday for his Medaport to be put in. Since last Thursday he has been on his ventilator 24/7."
Stevy "Stevy has felt so bad again today. She had to be put back on oxygen about 2:30 this morning. She has been in alot of pain."
Owen "He has a sprained leg, the lower portion of his leg and onloy part that isn't his implant is just so weak...it gave out in the fall."
Aisylin " He went over the MRI with me. He showed me the images of her hips and legs from the frontal view and slice by slice. The healthy tissue is supposed to be white, and diseased areas are black. The bones in her legs are marbled with black with too numerous to count larger areas."
Taylor "Taylor needs prayer. We don't know why but she has been dealing with severe stomach upset since Thursday evening..."
Margaret "i am however sending MANY powerful Prayers that tomorrow will go well for auntie muggs on her 1st day of chemo!!! also finding out the news on the brain MRI!!!!!"
Anthony “I got a phone call from the ICU doc at 3am, she called to inform me that Anthony had taken a turn for the worse. She told me that he was not responding to the medications or to the help from the ventilator. It was her professional opinion that Anthony’s body was starting to shut down.”
Tiana “The Chemo is really taking its toll on her this week. The combination of the vomiting and her lack of eating and drinking has left her weak. She is not really talking and is a little withdrawn.”
Courtney “Dr. Reddy put Courtney back in the hospital today. She is running fever and very weak. It appears she has a UTI.”
Paula “Headed in for another MRI in the morning myself - please pray for calm nerves!”

"We got word this morning that cancer has spread to three places in her brain. We know God is greater and that He is Healer and that He has called Fran His own."
Avery “We were told the worse possible news yesterday. The tumor has grown. Also, to add more heartbreak, Avery has hydrocephalus (water on the brain). It is so severe that Avery is going into emergency surgery early this morning so they can put a shunt in to drain the fluid to relieve the pressure…”
Jillian “Just to let everyone know Jill is in the hospital at Lutheran General…the news this morning was not what we had hoped for. The liver enzyme function has not improved and in fact has increased greatly.”
Jessica “Jessica has her left knee replacement Thursday the 12th…”
Emerson “Yesterday it was confirmed that Emerson has a blood infection which is gram b negative. This is an infection that is pretty dangerous to have but having gram b negative isn’t helping things.”
Brendan “Brendan continues to sleep most of the day. His breathing, at times, is sporadic so we've been using the oxygen to make it easier for him.”
Ethan “Say some prayers that Ethan manages without neutrapenic fever...AND for the big day tomorrow.....SCANS!!!!!”
Jeffrey “our sweet little Jeffrey has two cracks in his upper right femur. He is presently in surgery to put a plate in place to help this heal.”
Alena “This Friday August 13, is a very big day for Alena and our family. She will be taken to Meridian Park Hospital and have several CT scans, and then we will learn how her abdominal tumor has responded to all of our prayers and the chemotherapy treatments.”
Jensen “They will not even consider high dose chemo or stem cell rescue because it will likely kill him. That seems to be the consensus from all docs I have talked to. We are being pushed to pallative care and it is just sickening to me.”
Dan “The cells are metastatic cancer cells in his spine. This means that the cancer is coming from "somewhere else" and it has spread to spine.” |
